Wants a Mentor

Good afternoon Ed,

I have spent 20 years building a career in trading. Although I have had periods of success, I have not built the successful career that I always hoped that I would have.

I have read several books ... regarding trend following and do truly believe that trend following will be my path to success.

I have always traded under a prop structure and been under pressure to make money on extremely short term strategies.

My best friend and I have a small amount of seed money to make this work and we are looking for a mentor. Please let me know if you have any helpful guidance. It would be greatly appreciated.

All the best,

Thank you for reaching out to me.

Thank you for sending me the link.

Hmmm ... reports of the demise of trend following might prove a bit premature.

Wants to Day Trade

Hello Ed,

Can you kindly recommend me an online trading school or books I can study to begin day or swing trading. Im a dedicated student, but I live in Mexico so there arent any trading schools over here.

Hope you can help me,

Kind regards,

I do not know of any long-term-profitable track records for day traders.

As such, I have no recommendations for day-trading schools.

Nor do I have recommendations for similar schools - that teach you how to drink alcohol, or use addictive drugs, or engage in destructive relationships or otherwise use drama to medicate deeper feelings of longing for right livelihood.

Wants a Workshop

Hi Ed,

I have seen there is a workshop in Puerto Rico closely. I am trying to manage dates but I don't know still if I will be able to make it.

When will be the next one approximately?

Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Thank you for showing interest in attending a Workshop.

At this point, I do not have a firm date or place for it.

Saying What You Want

Hello Ed,

Thank you for your suggestion (August 4). I investigate this also in the other areas of my life upon your suggestion. So far I observe that I generally say what I want, directly.

However you are right in your comments. I am not clear enough in my first e-mail.

Anyway, coming back to the main topic, your comments at are sufficient as an answer to my first e-mail. I saw this page later.

Thank you.

P.S. Perhaps you can also support me by organizing a new workshop.

Thank you for sharing your process.

I generally host Workshops in response to my perception of demand.

Wants a Mentor

Hello Mr. Seykota,

I'm 26 years old and I am from [Place]. I finished reading your interview in market wizards and I was blown away by your perspective of psychology, the markets and how everyone always gets what they want out of them. I just recently joined your Trading Tribe and went to a meeting a couple days ago in [City]. I am sending this email in hopes of being able to learn and be mentored by you.

Just to give you a quick background about myself, I am an entrepreneur that has started a few businesses. I usually work my way up to a degree of success, run into a speed bump and instead of being diligent and working through it I just get bored of it and move onto another venture. I just found out about trading at the beginning of this month and instantly believed it is something I could become great at. I have purchased countless books on the subject, have my eyes glued on CNBC, took a couple classes at the local community college on investing and I'm always the first one into class and last one to leave.

So I opened up a Forex practice account and began practicing. I believe I can become a great trader because I'm able to handle my emotions and remove myself from the trade, I'm very good at spotting trends, I'm very technical & analytical and very humble. I just don't know which route to put my energy into: forex, commodities, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etf's or what.

I don't know where you're located because in the interview it said you were in Nevada, on your site it was hinting to Austin & my Tribe leader said Puerto Rico. Wherever you are I will save up and come visit if I get the opportunity sir. I really want to learn trading from you, the psychology behind trading and about life in general. Some of the best traders have given you so much credit for mentoring them like Michael Marcus.

I don't know what I can give to you in return but I did used to own a web design/marketing company and I could help update your site to get new members signed up to attend meetings, help you answer questions people have or anything else you want to do online related. I can also work for you for free if you need me to do anything sir, I really want to learn and become great.

I hope this email is not too long and you at least take the chance to get to know me. Please give me an opportunity Ed to learn directly from you sir.

Thank you,

With positivity,

Thank you for reaching out for mentoring.

In Tribe, we come to mentor each other, and you get the benefit of illumination from many different points of light.

You might consider taking your feelings about <sticking to a system> to Tribe, as an entry point.
