WTF Happens in 1971

Hi Ed.

I saw this site of charts floating around and thought you might like to take a look.

https://wtfhappenedin1971.com/

Thank you for sending me this link.

As I recall, in 1971, on August 15, Richard Nixon does something or other.

Greetings!

Can you tell me exactly what time (and time zone) each day the list below is updated?

Also, do you by chance have historic data on the stocks that were on the list below and when they were removed over the last year.

The TT Charts Menu Page

Thank you for asking about the TT Chart Service.

The list and charts update after the close; the posting process begins around 8:30 PM CST, subject to change.

I have data on many instruments. The Strong / Weak list changes daily as newly strong and weak stocks replace the ones from the previous day.

I do not keep track of the action of stocks no longer on the list; nor do I represent appearance on the list as any kind of trading signal or system.

FAQ Intention

Hello Ed.  I check FAQ and notice that the last update is March, 2022.

Is FAQ over or is it your intention to continue the work?

Merry Christmas to you and yours.  I hope all is well.

Thank you for asking about FAQ.

I find myself still working on it,  taking it to the next level.

To Work or Not to Work

Hi again Ed,

I have another couple of questions that i would like to get your opinion on.

I'm 21 years old and working 9-5 at our family’s company.

I'm earning an average Swedish salary for my age but off course i would like to become a full time trader.

Here comes the question: I want to resign from my job and try trading for full time for half a year.

Due to how it works i will perhaps start to study in September next year.

This means that i will get 8 months of full time study on trading/trading which will make me come a long way compared to if i would continue working. What do you think?

Best regard

Thank you for raising this issue.

I think you might consider taking your feelings about commitment to Tribe as an entry point.

Theoretical Apprentice

Good Afternoon Mr. Seykota,

I hope this message finds you well, I have a few questions that I hope you wouldn’t mind answering:

When you are designing a model, how much data (in relation to time) do you put it through; 1,3,5, 10 or 10+ years?

If you were to take another apprentice, how would you guide them on creating their first model?

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Thank you for raising this issue.

I generally start by qualifying the prospective apprentice to determine his current skill levels and his willingness to do the work.

Wants a Book and Mentor

Hi Ed,

Finished market wizards for a couple of weeks ago and really admire your work.

Have worked to become a profitable trader for a year and feels like I have found the right way to go.

Had some struggle to find the right path in the beginning with studying Elliott Wave, by different gurus on YouTube but didn’t feel like getting forward.

In the last months I really feel like I found the right sources to gain knowledge about how I can become a professional trader.

I have now read several books like for example Best loser win (Tom Hougaard), trading in the zone (Mark Douglas), Market wizards (Jack. D . Schwager) etc.

But after several hours of trying to find the right books I really came to the conclusion that it is a jungle out there of books.

Therefore I’m asking for your help to guide me which books you recommend the most and which literally is shit and a waste of reading.

Linked my cart on amazon if you can see it.

I want you to know that I’m an admirer of the same trading type as you, trend following. So have that in mind.

I  would also like to ask you how important you think it is of having a mentor in trading.

Do you know some good? Or is It perhaps possible that you would act as my mentor? Im not expecting that but would of course be a dream with your track record and knowledge.

Best Regards

Thank you for sharing your process.

You might consider reading Reminiscences of a Stock Operator over and over until you can cite passages by heart.

You might also consider what kind of commitment you can offer to your mentor.
